“MEMOIRS FROM MANILLA”

An Independent Film Premiere at Cornerstone

We had the pleasure of working with a fabulous independent filmmaker in his release of “Memoirs from Manila”. The afternoon began with a screening of the film, in downtown Sonoma, and progressed, after a scavenger hunt, to a post party a few miles away. Guests were treated to rich Filipino culture, in the way of food and entertainment – including Kariktan and Tinikling performances. This emerging filmmaker, who had worked so diligently on his film, touchingly dedicated the release of his film to his loving wife. Our favorite highlight of the evening came towards the end of the event with a “blow-up” sumo wrestling competition between our filmmaker and his wife.  The sheer hilarity of seeing his petite wife enveloped by the costume was only surpassed when a guest decided to “body slam” another guest by jumping off a chair in full “sumo” gear.
